Adherents of the Akashic Record, sometimes described as The Book of Life, believe that every life and event that has taken place throughout the history of the world leaves a faint imprint on time which can be read by those who have the spiritual power to do so.
The Record's benefits to the writer, particularly the writer of historical novels could be radical. Imagine it as a kind of in-depth interview with the past: a way of accessing not only the appearance but also the thoughts, motivations and feelings of people long dead.
Rudolph Steiner
The novelist Elizabeth Chadwick, author of many bestselling mediaeval novels, doesn't claim to have the power to access the Akashic Record herself but says that the services of a friend who does are invaluable to her in her work. Of course some people will be sceptical but with such a recommendation, it would be rash to dismiss the idea out of hand. So, a fantastic tool for the writer or mumbo-jumbo? I'm still on the fence, but I know one thing for sure: when I'm writing or thinking about writing, my characters have a powerful presence that's almost palpable. For those who, like me, want to know more about the Askashic Record, there are plenty of resources out there on the net. |
